Holly Hewitt - Owner / Teacher
Miss Holly is celebrating 17 fabulous years of ownership and 30 years of teaching! She opened Holly's Dance on May 20, 2000. Since then she has expanded her studio four times to accommodate her growing number of students. This last expansion includes a brand new state of the art 12,000 square foot facility with 4 studio's! In 1992 Miss Holly performed in the Super Bowl Half Time Show with Gloria Estefan. She's very fortunate to have studied with many dance world educators in Chicago, Oklahoma, Las Vegas, Florida, LA, New York, Switzerland including Tommy Walsh, Luigi Faccuito, Joe Lanteri and Joe Tremaine to name a few, After earning her degree in Kinesiology from the University of Minnesota, she taught and performed with Club Med Vacations in Sand Piper Florida. Miss Holly has taught several workshops at local dance schools and colleges as well as serving as a dance judge. She successfully developed, taught and staged the Minnesota Valley Family YMCA's dance program, 1998 through 2000; while holding the position as Fitness Director. Miss Holly holds the prestigious Dance Educators of America Certification, which she received in July of 2004, and is still an active member at present day. She passed her written, verbal and demonstration exams in the 98th percentile.
Miss Holly's teaching style is very uplifting, energetic, patient and fun! With these important qualities come class structure, professionalism and respect. Teaching dance to children and adults has always been Miss Holly's love and passion. She is so excited to bring her lifelong dream to life in Downtown Lakeville and share it with you!
Carisa Drews - PUSH Director / Teacher
Miss Carisa Drews is our PUSH Competition Company Director at Holly’s Dance. Under Miss Carisa's direction PUSH has earned many overall awards in the highest level of competition at both regional and national competitions. She strongly believes in pushing her students to be the best they can be! She has been dancing since the age of 3 and instructing dance in the twin cities since 2000. She is one of the original company members of Out on a Limb Dance Company, where she has been very blessed to play many lead roles in their productions. Carisa has studied under many nationally known instructors such as: Tony Peyla, Ray Leaper, Desiree Robins, Leslie Daly and in New York at Broadway Dance Center. She has earned many regional and national awards as a dancer, choreographer and instructor. These include the first overall solo award in Chicago IL, and “just for kix choreography award.” She teaches Ballet, Jazz, Lyrical, Pointe, Hip Hop, and Cardio Kickboxing.

Shannon Fahey - Ballet Mistress
Ms. Shannon has taught competitive and non-competitive ballet and pointe for the past 19 years on the east coast and in Minnesota. Ms. Shannon received her degree in dance from Mercyhurst University and following her education, she performed professionally with Ballet Long Island and Huntington Ballet Theatre in such classics such as The Nutcracker, Giselle, Coppelia, A Mid-Summer's Night Dream and Cinderella. Ms. Shannon is a wife to a loving husband and has one beautiful daughter. She looks forward to sharing her experience with us.
Kara Mallak - Teacher
Miss Kara is Holly’s Dance’s most tenured Teacher, having taught at Holly's for over 9 years. She started dance at age 3 and has loved it ever since. She studied ballet, modern, jazz, and lyrical throughout her school years and into college. At the University of Nebraska she participated in the dance troupe and has danced professionally in productions in her home state of Nebraska. After taking time off to have a family, Miss Kara got the dancing bug again and started taking classes at Holly's Dance and to this day still embodies the Holly’s Dance’s spirit as a teacher and a student and is thrilled to be teaching our young dancers. Miss Kara has a very patient, loving, nurturing teaching personality. She has quite a following of little ballerina's:)
Mattie Billadeau - Office Manager / Teacher
Miss Mattie Billadeau has been dancing since the age of 3. Most of that time she was performing on a competing line where she won multiple group and solo awards and was captain of her dance team for 4 years. Mattie has studied with numerous professionals including Ellen Keane and Kathy Wind of Keane Sense of Rhythm, TU Dance Company, Erin Thompson, the Flying Foot Forum, Stuart Pimpsler, Marciano De Santos, Kirill Dak, Mathew Janczewski, Anna Itman, and Joel Klauser. Performing arts has been a huge part in Mattie’s life. She has been studying numerous mediums that include Musical Theater since she was in 4th grade at the Fine Arts Interdisciplinary Resource School (F.A.I.R. School) all the way through her senior year in High School where she graduated from Main Street School of Performing Arts (M.S.S.P.A.) with an emphasis in dance. Mattie was also a member of the M.S.S.P.A Dance Company for 4 years where her solo was chosen to be in their Fall 2007 show as well as the jazz piece she choreographed for her Senior Showcase. Mattie has performed at a number of professional stages around the Twin Cities. This is Mattie’s 7th year teaching with a passion for sharing her education with her students!
Austen Browne - Teacher
Austen has been immersed in the arts from a very young age. He has been studying, performing and competing dance for over 17 years under the training of Linda Muir-Finney. He has been teaching competitive dance for eight years and led his dancers to win many national and regional awards. Austen has earned his associates degree in film-making: post production and editing. His two greatest passions are dance and film-making, bringing these two art forms together is his life purpose.
Kirby Hagen - Teacher
Miss Kirby is Holly’s Dance’s Hip Hop Teacher. She has been teaching Hip Hop here for the past 6 years. She also choreographs performance pieces in Lyrical & African. She has trained, taught and performed with a variety of local dance schools, outreach programs and dance teams throughout her dance career. She mixes Hop Hop, African and even some lyrical and modern in her classes. Her focus includes gaining skills in these styles of dance as well as gaining an awareness and respect for her students bodies. Fostering growth as individuals and developing confidence and self esteem in themselves as dancers and as a person is a very important aspect of her classes. Fun, energy, safety, positivity, support, mental, emotional and physical growth are all encompassed in her Hip Hop classes. Miss Kirby also has a Bachelor of Arts, Education from Augsburg College.
